Kerstin has been involved in the dance community since early
childhood. Her dance training began at the age of five at the Jack Gronau Dance
Studios. She studied Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, and Lyrical throughout her childhood
and teen years. Once she became a competitive dancer, she traveled to such
cities as Miami, New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta to compete at a
national level.
She began her teacher training in 1985 and qualified for her
DMA certification in 1988 in Tap and Jazz. Kerstin then went on to direct the
Forbes Academy of Dance from 1991 to 1998. She also ran dance numerous dance
programs in elementary schools throughout Onondaga County. She continues her
dance education by attending numerous conventions offered locally at the Tawn
Marie’s Dance Center and throughout Upstate New York.
Kerstin joined the staff of Tawn Marie’s in
1998. She currently teaches beginner through competitive students from
Pre-school through Teen in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical.
